About Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility

To become a mechanical engineer, a student should have a bachelor degree offered at various mechanical engineering colleges. The bachelor degree program lasts 4 to 5 years. Some students also pursue a PG degree in technology, engineering, and science. It may not have research. Students who are interested in research and academia can pursue Ph.D.

Courses after B.Tech or BE Mech.

Students may pursue diploma or technical courses, including safety technology, piping technology and management etc. For career in Merchant Navy, graduates may pursue Marine Engineering. Graduates may also pursue M.Tech and specialize in the disciplines and sub branches like Machine Design, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Drafting, Control Systems, CAD, and Automobile Engineering.
